NetDragon's Digital Buddhist Curriculum System Drives Standardization of Authoritative Buddhist Education in Thailand
2025-04-08 15:51:21Recently, Mi Xiong, General Manager of NetDragon Websoft Inc.’s Religion Division and CEO of the Thailand National Digital Buddhism Innovation and Research Center, along with Xie Wei from NetDragon’s Digital Religion Division, met with Venerable Phra Dharmakosajarn, a Member of the Supreme Sangha Council of Thailand, President of the International Vesak Day Council, and President of the International Buddhist Universities Association. The delegation provided a detailed update on key projects, including the Thailand National Digital Buddhism Innovation and Research Center and the United Nations Vesak Day initiatives.
Xie Wei highlighted the Standardized Digital Buddhist Curriculum System, a cornerstone project of the Innovation and Research Center. Rooted in the core concept of "Digital Technology Empowerment for Buddhist Teachings", the 40-hour curriculum integrates digital Buddhist theory, new media operations, AI tool applications, and practical projects. Delivered in both English and Thai through an OMO (Online-Merge-Offline) teaching model, it aims to cultivate comprehensive professionals with digital literacy, technical skills, and cultural depth to advance Thailand’s Buddhist digital transformation. Venerable Phra Dharmakosajarn will lead a team to guide curriculum development, ensuring an authoritative, standardized, and intelligent learning framework for Thailand’s national Buddhist education system.
Another focus was the AI-Enhanced Buddhist dissemination Project "The Life of Buddha", which uses AI text generation and AIGC tools to create narratives and visual scenes from traditional biographical content. After editorial refinement, Venerable Phra Dharmakosajarn’s team will review and finalize the work. Scheduled for global dissemination via Thailand’s National Digital Education Platform, this initiative represents an innovative digital model for religious cultural exchange. The Venerable expressed strong approval of the project’s progress and offered suggestions for optimization, envisioning a new era of Intelligent, digital Buddhist dissemination that engages audiences worldwide through interactive and immersive experiences.
Looking ahead to the 20th United Nations Vesak Day(May 5–9, 2025) in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, Xie Wei outlined plans to showcase NetDragon’s latest Rokid Glasses, host digital Buddhism seminars at the Innovation and Research Center, and present educational products. These activities underscore NetDragon’s commitment to integrating smart technology with Buddhist heritage.
